Community Partnerships

DORF partnered with Bat City Review, University of Texas School of Law’s Capital Punishment Clinic and The Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (TCADP) to present REMEDY, an art show and auction showcasing work by artists on death row in Texas. Proceeds from the auction benefitted TCADP.

DORF also hosts private events and community gatherings. To inquire about partnerships or hosting your event with DORF, please contact us here.

Fundraising for Non-Profit Organizations

For each exhibition, DORF donates 10% of all proceeds to a non-profit or organization. The organization is often chosen by an exhibiting artist and relates to the themes of the exhibitions.

DORF has raised funds for the following organizations:

$7,895 raised for Voices of Children, a Ukraine-based aid organization that provides psychological support to children who have witnessed war. They are actively working to provide housing arrangements, clothing, art therapy, financial support, and a psychological hotline to support Ukrainians who have suffered as a result of the ongoing war.

$8,402 raised for Austin Justice Coalition (AJC). DORF hosted a three-day Instagram auction with artwork from 25 incredible Texas-based artists. AJC serves people who are historically and systematically impacted by gentrification, segregation, over-policing, a lack of educational and employment opportunities, and other institutional forms of racism in Austin.

$3,309 raised for Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty - Bat City Review and DORF produced a one-day group exhibition and auction featuring works by texas artists on death row. TCADP is the only professionally staffed, statewide grassroots advocacy organization dedicated solely to ending the death penalty in Texas

$100 raised for Refugee Services of Texas - a Texas non-profit welcoming refugees, immigrants, and other displaced peoples and supports them in integrating and thriving in their new communities.

$200 raised for Center for Youth Wellness - a non-profit that focuses on testing, diagnosing, and treating children who have experienced serious trauma.

Voter Registration

DORF collaborated with volunteer deputy registrars during the 2018 midterm election to offer visible, community-focused voter registration and engagement. We partnered with Register2Vote.org and Big Medium during “Open Canopy” to set up pop-up voting registration tables with artwork by artist Angry Cloud + Descnd. Together we registered over 100 people residing in Texas to vote, checked the registration status of many more, and helped increase participation in local elections.
